The most beautiful drawings of Utrecht

De getekende stad liender breedbeeld

The old city wall, the Dom Church, the city life; what did Utrecht look like hundreds of years ago? Discover this and more in the exhibition The Illustrated City.

In The Utrecht Archives you will find one of the most important collections of old Dutch masters, such as Pieter Saenredam, Jan van Goyen and Herman Saftleven. Most of these fragile works have never been shown before. Visit the exhibition and admire these fine drawings!

New drawings every two months

In order to show as many drawings as possible, a new selection will be on display every two months:

October - December 2023: drawings from the 17th century.
January - February 2024: drawings from the 18th century.
March - July 2024: drawings from the 19th century.

What can you see and do?

> Admire the most beautiful drawings from the collection of The Utrecht Archives.
> Discover what Utrecht looked like hundreds of years ago.
> Make your own master piece in the drawing studio.

For who?

The exhibition is suitable for young and old.
